  • TABLETOP SIMULATOR

Tabletop Simulator is a powerful and sometimes frustrating platform. With that power comes some complexity and a lot of features that may not be obvious. This series highlights some features in TTS that you may or may not be familiar with.

TTS has the ability to merge multiple objects into a single object and use states to switch between the merged objects. To create a merged object, select all the objects, then right-click and select Create States. All the selected objects are merged into a single object. You can change the state of the merged object by hovering over it and pressing the number key that corresponds to the state you want. You can also right-click on the merged object and change the state through the submenu.

So why would you want to do this? The most obvious solution is to mimic a situation in an analog game where a player can claim ownership of a common component, like a miniature. A common analog solution is to snap a colored plastic base onto the the miniature to indicate ownership. So in TTS you would create versions of the mini each with a different colored base and then merge all those objects into a single object.
